Seven famous murderesses from American history ‐ including Laura Fair, Belle Gunness, and Lizzie Borden ‐ reveal their secrets in a suite of hair‐raising monologues. Murderess is a play written about women throughout History, by a woman. Anne Bertram is a founding Artistic Associate of Theatre Unbound, a Minneapolis/St. Paul company devoted to work by and about women. She currently serves as Executive Director. Her work as a playwright has been seen in venues from off‐Off Broadway to middle‐school classrooms in Fargo, as well as Theatre Unbound. I would like to make this production as much about women as possible, due to the overwhelming amount of talented women we have in this theatrical community. This show is also a gritty and uncomfortable look inside the minds of these women and what led them to commit their crimes.
